A Worthy Homage

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 4 December 2006 02:18 (A review of The Lathe of Heaven: A Novel (Perennial Classics))

This book was written as an homage to Philip K. Dick and even surpasses some of his books. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan on rereading it in the near future.

The Engine

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 4 December 2006 02:17 (A review of Armor)

Again another must read for a serious science fiction reader. I have had my copy for years and have reread it multiple times. It is always good. Supposedly there is a sequel coming out. His other books are almost exactly the same but still not that bad.

Must read.

Understated

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 3 December 2006 07:11 (A review of The Fountain)

This is probably the best movie I have ever seen. I can't begin to tell you how powerful this movie is. I do agree with the other review, you have to be in the right mood. If you have movies about love then this isn't for you.

Good Christmas Album

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 1 December 2006 08:39 (A review of Wintersong)

Her voice is intoxicating. Only a few must listen to songs. The rest is decent.

More Mellow

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 1 December 2006 08:39 (A review of 10,000 Days)

Much more mellow than their earlier stuff, Tool has yet to settle on a sound. Each album is vastly different than the last. I personally prefer Lateralus, but this one isn't bad. I am just worry I have to wait another 5 years for their next one.

Better Live

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 1 December 2006 08:38 (A review of Salival)

Tool is great in a studio, but their live show is unrivaled. I don't know if this is sold anymore, but get your hands on a copy. They take already great songs and turn them into even better masterpieces.

Another great album

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 1 December 2006 08:37 (A review of ร†nima)

If you only put out an album every half decade they better be really f*cking good. This one is. Heavier than their later stuff, but lighter than Opiate or Undertow, it has some real gems. I can listen to the whole CD without skipping a single track. You can't do that with most CDs.

Best Album

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 1 December 2006 08:35 (A review of Lateralus)

Tool has never stopped evolving their sound, but this is when I personally believe they peaked. Aenema has great stuff, but Lateralus has no rival. Not for the faint of heart, this is a thinking man's prog rock album. Some people never get Tool, that's fine, but give them a listen.

Think for yourself, Question authority.

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 1 December 2006 08:24 (A review of The Doors of His Face, The Lamps of His Mouth)

The short story the collection is based off of is the first one, but don't stop there. Zelazny is just as good at shorter stuff as any other sci-fi master.

Great Book

Great started for a new sci-fi reader.
